My blood test came back normal but I am still tired. What now?
Your bloods cameback normal. So why the fatigue?
A standard blood panel is built to catch disease, and it is good at that. It was never designed to tell you whether you are performing at your best. You can sit inside every reference range and still feel exhausted, because normal is a very wide band, and the bottom of it and the top of it are different experiences.
What “normal” means on a lab report
A reference range is a population measurement. It describes where most people sit, and it is drawn wide enough that being outside it is a genuine signal worth investigating. That is a useful job and a standard panel does it well.
What it is not is a performance standard. Nothing about being inside a range says you are where you want to be. It says you are not currently flagged.
The bottom of the range and the top of the range
This is the part most people are never told. Two results can both be reported as normal while sitting at opposite ends of the same band. On paper they read identically. In a body they do not.
Sitting at the bottom of a normal range and sitting at the top of it are two completely different experiences of being alive. Both get the same word on the report.
Why a wider panel changes the picture
A standard panel is short because it is screening. It is looking for the things that need a doctor, and it stops there.
A wider panel is not more dramatic, it is just longer. It covers metabolic health, hormones, nutrient status, inflammation, blood sugar regulation and liver health, so the question stops being “is anything wrong” and becomes “what is actually holding this person back”.
What to do with that
The honest answer is that you cannot know from a symptom. Tiredness is the least specific signal a body produces, which is exactly why guessing at it fails and why people cycle through fixes that worked for someone else.
The alternative is to measure first and decide second. That is the whole of the Superhuman Protocol: test, analyse, then build the plan around what came back rather than around what is fashionable.
We don't guess, we test. Nobody here gets a plan before we have seen their data.
